When Belinda Vickers walked down the aisle and met her Married At First Sight husband Patrick Dwyer, we figured they’d be this season’s palate cleanser couple.
29-year-old Belinda confessed that not only had she never had a boyfriend but that she didn’t see herself as a conventionally attractive person and we simply swooned when her groom, 27, described her as one of the most beautiful girls he’s seen.
Even when the couples were thrown with Confessions Week that saw some grooms fail miserably, Belinda and Patrick only had kind things to say to each other.
The question is, have they lasted in the outside world?
It seems like they could be in with a chance!
Speaking exclusively to WHO, Belinda revealed that she applied for the show because she didn’t want to hit her thirties and still be single.
“I decided to apply on my sister’s wedding day. I was her bridesmaid and I realised I didn’t want to get left behind. It felt like I really needed expert help when it comes to relationships because obviously I haven’t been successful at all on my own. I’ve dealt with a lot in my life and worked hard on overcoming the bullying, so it was time to do something about my love-life.”
But the most telling sign she and her on-screen hubby are still a thing was when she admitted: “It’s going really well with Patrick so far.”
In pics obtained by The Wash taken in February, Patrick was snapped dancing up a storm in Sydney with friends and though Belinda wasn’t with him, he was still wearing his wedding ring.
Furthermore, the pair have been spotted in Melbourne posing for photos with MAFS fans and packed on the PDA at Fitzy and Wippa’s MAFS Dinner Party event in Sydney last month.
Unsurprisingly, it seems that Patrick and Belinda commit to stay together at the final vows with Patrick telling his bride “You’re the one I’ve spent my life looking for.”
However, the trailers are hinting at some potential drama.
“Pat’s feelings towards me have always been stronger than what mine were towards him,” Belinda confesses in a clip from Tuesday night’s final vows episode.
The 29-year-old adds: “I’ve had my doubts about it lasting in the real world.”
Though she and Patrick have stolen our hearts, fans were left shocked when Belinda’s secret ex-boyfriend was revealed by reality TV podcast So Dramatic!
According to the podcast, the curly-haired beauty previously dated 73-year-old Melbourne bouncer Martin De Bono and that they ended things in March 2020.
But in March, Belinda slammed claims that she and Martin (who’s over 40 years her senior) ever dated.
“I think it’s pretty normal to take photos with your friends, I’m pretty sure everyone’s taken selfies with their mates so seeing the photos surface…yeah we’re friends, what’s your point?” Belinda told radio duo Jimmy and Nath.
