Dino and Melissa’s union on Married At First Sight got off to awkward start last night, and now WHO can exclusively reveal that their honeymoon didn’t appear to begin any better.
With a large-and-in-charge camera and audio crew documenting their every move as they headed off to enjoy the first few days of married life, the body language between the pair seemed mostly cold, awkward and – definitely when it came to Melissa – disinterested.
A romance TV show veteran – having appeared on First Dates – and a former Mr Australasia, Dino struggled to find much common ground with Melissa, with his interest in spirituality, and theatrical gestures like getting down on one knee.
‘I’ll start by saying namaste,’ Dino said, before confusing his bride by vowing, ‘I bow to the divine in you.’
Hours later, Melissa confessed, ‘I still don’t know what namasta [sic] means.’
While Dino seemed convinced there was ‘great chemistry’ between them, Melissa confessed to feeling none – yet.
But judging by these pictures, which show Melissa giving little in the way of encouragement to Dino in terms of eye contact or smiles, things on the honeymoon aren’t improving.
Whatever happens, Dino’s unique philosophy on love might still get him through.
‘I see women as divine flowers, like we see a lily is a lily and a rose is a rose – they don’t try and compete against one another or be like each other even, so each of them are unique in their own style, shape and smell,’ he opines.
