Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) has been running-up against the glass ceiling of stand-up comedy for four seasons already. The final season will see the Mrs Maisel – and her dry-witted manager Susie (Alex Borstein) – reach new heights of success.
But will it be enough or too much for the duo?
There is also set to be plenty of private life drama for the stars.
The Maisel-Weissmans are even more intertwined following Moishe Maisel’s (Kevin Pollak) heart attack. Meanwhile Midge’s parents were both pursuing new careers: Abe (Tony Shalloub) at a left-wing underground newspaper and Rose (Marin Hinkle) as a matchmaker.Â
Midge’s ex-husband, Joel (Michael Zegen), was dealing with the challenges of opening a night club and the culture clashes of his growing relationship with Chinese-American Mei (Stephanie Hsu).Â
Then there’s the question on everybody’s lips: will Midge and Lenny Bruce live happily ever after?
What will become of Lenny Bruce and Midge?
At the end of season four, Midge and Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby) finally gave fans what they’d been wanting since episode one. However, if the writers stick to Lenny’s real-life trajectory, fans can expect a tragic ending for the celebrity comic.
In real life, Lenny Bruce died of an overdose in 1966. Lenny’s drug dependency has already hinted at his demise, but will the writers – who have taken other liberties with the character – re-write history?
We’re hoping Amy Sherman Palladino opts to keep Lenny and Midge together forever.Â
Which famous faces will you see in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel season 5?
The main cast is all returning, but we’re also expecting a re-appearance of famous guest stars, including Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls, This Is Us) and Kelly Bishop (also Gilmore Girls, Dirty Dancing).Â
While she hasn’t appeared in the first-look photos, we’re also expected to see Oscar-nominated actress, Stephanie Hsu return for her role as Mei.

Last we checked, Mei was expecting a child with Joel Maisel. Fans of this year’s Best Picture Oscar winner, Everything Everywhere All At Once, will surely love to see more of its rising star in the Maisel universe.
Finally, we were briefly introduced to late night talk show host Gordon Ford (Reid Scott of Veep fame) in the previous season, and first-look images show he and Midge ice skating together in Rockerfeller Plaza. Does this hint at a new romantic interest for Midge or is their relationship strictly professional?
