With more lockdowns and border closures being enforced around the country just before Christmas, things have been looking a little bleak.
But in happier news, MasterChef: Back To Win champion Emelia Jackson has announced that she’s expecting her first child!
Over the weekend, the Melbourne-based cake baker extraordinaire shared her first bump photo with her fans.
“Excuse the toilet in the background but this baby is popping today.. Sous chef coming in June,” she captioned the adorable snap.
Emelia, who is expecting with her partner Craig Gersbach, was soon flooded with congratulatory messages but it was her MasterChef family who arguably had the best reactions.
“Omg Milsy! Biggest congrats on the choux bun in the oven,” returning favourite Poh Ling Yeow commented.
“So bloody exciting! Bubba mills,” Brendan Pang noted.
“SHUT UP THIS IS AMAZING CONGRATULATIONS,” Rose Adam enthusiastically penned, along with several joyous emojis.
“OMG! Such happy news!! Congratulations on the little bun xx” added Courtney Roulston.
Emelia and Craig have been in a long-term relationship for some time but seeing as he often doesn’t appear on her social media, there aren’t many details about him on the Internet.
“He doesn’t feature much on my Facebook or Instagram mainly because I use that platform to promote my business more than anything,” Emelia previously explained to Now To Love.
Speaking of his sudden fame and title of the “mystery boyfriend”, Emelia added: “I found the whole thing very funny and I think he was quietly chuffed by it all as well – all his friends thought it was absolutely hilarious.”
She may be pregnant but Emelia has admitted that she’d accept a judging gig on MasterChef “without a shadow of a doubt” if offered, following her guest judging stint on Junior MasterChef.
“That’s like a dream job!” Emelia previously told Who.
“It was so much fun being back there because a lot of what you don’t see is how much the contestants bond with the crew on set as well so it was so nice being back in the kitchen and being on the other side of things was really interesting.”
