In BIG news for fans of anorak-loving Britpop legends Oasis, Noel and Liam Gallagher have *finally* put aside their 15-year feud – announcing a reunion concert tour across the UK and Ireland in 2025.

“The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over,” the band captioned the announcement on Instagram, sharing the first photo of the Gallagher brothers alongside one another since 2009.

Now, with a multi-city tour confirmed, fans across the globe have rushed to get their hands on a ticket, but could the brothers soon be bringing the tour Down Under?

Will there be an Oasis reunion?

While fans initially took the long-awaited news with a grain of salt, Oasis confirmed the rumours of their reunion on August 27, 2024.

“Oasis today end years of feverish speculation with the confirmation of a long-awaited run of UK and Ireland shows forming the domestic leg of their OASIS LIVE 25 world tour,” read the band’s press release, adding that the tour will also be “their only shows in Europe next year.”

One day before their official confirmation, sources speaking to The Sun ignited a sea of social media speculation after teasing the news of Noel and Liam’s unexpected reunion.

“This is the reunion that no one thought would ever happen. Liam and Noel have been staunch enemies for well over a decade but have secretly been back in touch, A deal was put on the table and they both said yes – much to the surprise of the people around them,” the insider shared.

Will Oasis tour Australia?

While the band have not yet confirmed the news of any new shows, there have been a few signs to suggest that Oasis could potentially bring their long-awaited reunion tour to Australia in 2025.

Following the duo’s sold-out tour dates across the UK and Ireland, Ticketek has opened their official waitlist for Oasis’ Australian tour and venues, such as Melbourne’s MCG, have opened their expressions of interest for fans hoping to secure a suite to the biggest reunion in music.

Most telling of all, the band’s website teases that the tour will extend beyond the 14-show run advertised, with their official statement reading, “Plans are underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year.”

Where to buy Oasis 2025 tour tickets

If you’re looking to get your hands on a ticket to one of the most highly-anticipated tours of the year, we unfortunately have some bad news – tickets for Oasis’ LIVE ’25 tour are now sold out, however, there is still hope!

For fans keen on witnessing the Gallaghers on stage for the first time in over a decade, be sure to keep a close eye out on Ticketmaster’s dedicated fan-to-fan resale site, as many concert-goers have already begun to sell their unwanted tickets through the authorised resale.

For Aussies waiting with bated breath for the news of an Australian tour, you can now sign up for Ticketek’s official Oasis waitlist to be sure you’re the first to hear about any tour announcements!

Why did Oasis break up?

While the exact reasoning for Oasis’ breakup is still a topic of debate among fans, on August 28, 2009, Noel announced to the band’s website that he had left the group – less than two hours before the 90s sensations were set to take to the stage at Paris’ Rock en Seine festival.

“It is with some sadness and great relief… I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

As the legend goes, Liam reportedly either threw a chair or swung Noel’s guitar around “like an axe” and after many years of sibling rivalry, tension, and walk-outs, the pair have since spent the following 15 years reportedly not in contact, with both publicly blaming one another for the break up of the band.

In the decade that followed their final split, both Noel and Liam have commented on the speculation surrounding a potential reunion, however, sadly for fans, their commentary was not entirely optimistic.

“We are split up. You’ve heard that, haven’t you? You must’ve heard… Yeah, so, ergo, band splits up, band is no more. There is no band so, no, I won’t be getting involved. If there is a reunion, I won’t be in it,” Noel told Rolling Stone in 2013.

In July 2018, Oasis fans rejoiced after Liam seemingly extended an olive branch, tweeting, “Earth to Noel listen up rkid [sic] I hear you’re doing gigs where people can’t drink alcohol now that’s the BeZarist [sic] thing you’ve done yet I forgive you now let’s get the BIG O back together and stop f***ing about the drinks are on me.”
