Baywatch: Where are they now?

Baywatch was without a doubt the sexiest series to ever grace our TV screens. It catapulted some of its actors into superstardom – but for some, their life post-show wasn’t the Hollywood success story they’d dreamed of.

They were the buxom and brawny bodies that polarised the world, and turned a series with outlandish storylines (including one starring an octopus who stole surfers’ boards) into an iconic TV show that’s still watched today, despite its last episode airing in 2001.

Here, we take a look at where the stars of Baywatch are now.

Pamela Anderson – CJ Parker

As CJ Parker, Pamela Anderson was Baywatch personified.

With her California blonde locks and that iconic physique, she carried the series on her shoulders…just don’t tell David Hasselhoff.

When her sex tape was stolen and released illegally in 1996, her iconic role was threatened, that is, until the ratings came in.

In the new docuseries After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun, the show’s co-creator and producer Michael Berk said, “The next episode aired got twice the ratings,” Berk said. But it was a time Anderson would rather forget.

Now, she calls her homeland Canada home, has her own successful skincare line, and immerses herself in home renos.

“My life has been much more meaningful than a fluffy hat or a sex tape,” she told Variety after releasing her memoir Love, Pamela in 2023. “There’s more to me than that.”

David Hasselhoff – Mitch Buchannon

The Hoff will always be best known as Lt. Mitch Buchannon, the rugged and older leader of the squad.

In a chat with GQ he declared that, “Without me, Baywatch would have been cancelled,” obviously forgetting he shared the screen with the likes of Pamela Anderson and co.

Since then he’s starred in the Baywatch film adaptations, and released a series of singles. He’s also recently become a grandfather.

Jeremy Jackson – Hobie Buchannon

From the age of 10 to 19, Jackson played Buchannon’s sweet and innocent son Hobie, however his since has been anything but.

He’s since admitted to a meth amphetamine addiction, and has had a series of run-ins with the law.

“My life slipped through my hands like sand,” the actor revealed in the new docuseries, after admitting to sniffing female co-stars’ swimsuits.

Alexandra Paul – Lt. Stephanie Holden

As Lt. Stephanie Holden, Alexandra Paul was often the one catching the bad guys.

In real life, she’s found herself on the wrong side of the law, albeit for the greater good.

In 2023 she and an accomplice were found not guilty for the theft of two chickens from a truck, which they called an “open rescue.”

The staunch vegan and animal activist called her rescue a “victory” for animals who deserve “safety and respect.”

Yasmine Bleeth – Caroline Holden

Who didn’t love Caroline Holden? From the outside, the gorgeous model-turned-actress had it all, but post-Baywatch things took a sad turn for Bleeth.

She turned to drugs, specifically cocaine, which resulted in gangrene in her nose.

She was arrested several times, and was admitted to rehab too, which is where she met her now-husband, strip club owner Paul Cerrito. She’s reportedly been clean ever since.

David Charvet – Matt Brody

As Matt Brody, David Charvet was a bonafied sex symbol. But after just a few seasons, the actor called time on Baywatch.

He once told EW there was moment when he’d cry in his trailer over some of his shirtless scenes.

”I’m looking at my scripts and saying, ‘Oh my god, I gotta take off my shirt, I gotta hold in my stomach. This is not me. What the f— am I doing here?’” he recalled.

He then went on to star in Melrose Place, and marry actress Brooke Burke, after a two-year romance with his Baywatch co-star, Anderson. Seven years and two children later, he and Burke split. Since Baywatch and Melrose Place, the French-born actor has actually found success as a recording artist.

His debut single reached number-three on the charts in his homeland, while three pop-rock albums also found worldwide success.

Nowadays, Charvet has turned his back on Hollywood for a life in building and construction, after falling in love with the trade while developing his own home in Malibu.

Carmen Electra – Lani McKenzie

“People were watching it for the sexy bodies, the slo-mo run,” Electra, who played Lani McKenzie, told People.

After starring in 22 eps, Hollywood beckoned, and so she covered Playboy multiple times, hosted a dating show, launched the Naked Women’s Wrestling League, wrote a book and starred in movies.

She also married and divorced both Dave Navarro and Dennis Rodman.

David Chokachi – Cody Madison

“The global reach Baywatch had – and still has – is just mindblowing,” David Chokachi, who played heartthrob Cody Madison, told People.

“I have been in some very remote places in the world, and I’ll get recognised from my time on Baywatch.”

Like many of his co-stars, Chokachi is age-defying, but the roles he’s landed since have never been as iconic. In 2004 he married his wife Susan, and they share a daughter, Brit.

Nicole Eggert – Summer Quinn

Eggert was just 18 when she was cast as the lovable Summer Quinn. Two seasons later, she’d quit.

In 2023 was diagnosed with stage-two breast cancer.

“I’m on a wild roller coaster ride,” she told People. “There’s ups and downs, and I just try to wake up every day feeling really positive and ready to handle whatever is coming at me, to be honest with you.”

Donna D’Errico – Donna Marco

Since leaving the Baywatch in 1998, D’Errico has dabbled in movies, modelling and even archaeology. Yes, in 2012 she headed to Turkey in search of the frozen remains of Noah’s Ark.

She also followed in Anderson’s footsteps by marrying and divorcing a Mötley Crüe member, Nikki Sixx.

These days, she’s earning coin via OnlyFans.
