Paris Jackson shared a sweet snap with her previously estranged mother Debbie Rowe, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer, on Friday.
“I’m a fighter because she’s a fighter. Love you mom,” Michael Jackson‘s daughter, 18, captioned the photograph on Instagram showing her proudly kissing her 57-year-old mother’s bald held while out for lunch.
The mother and daughter duo were previously estranged, however TMZ reported in August that the pair had reconnected and had been spending time together following Rowe’s cancer diagnosis.
The publication reported that the pair had been visiting each other’s homes ahead of Rowe’s commencement of chemotherapy in September.
Michael Jackson’s ex-wife and mother of his children Paris and Prince, 19, confirmed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in July, telling ET in a statement: “I’m a fighter and always have been.”
Rowe married the King of Pop in Sydney in 1996, after meeting him while working at a dermatology clinic where he was being treated for vitiligo.
When they divorced in 1999 Rowe signed over all parental rights to Jackson, and after his death in 2009 his mother, Katherine, gained full custody of Paris, Prince and younger son Blanket, now 12, leaving Rowe with only visitation rights.
The recent diagnosis comes two years after Rowe suffered another cancer scare, which turned out to be sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that is not life-threatening.
On being given the news she did not have cancer, Rowe agreed to marry her long-time friend Marc Schaffel, who is also Jackson’s former business manager.
‘We just remained friends. He’s helped me with a lot of things and friendship sometimes turns into relationships and that’s what happened,’ she previously told TMZ.
Rowe currently lives on a horse ranch in rural Palmdale, in Los Angeles.
