Princess Kate may have been giving off Audrey Hepburn (in My Fair Lady) vibes at Royal Ascot, but that’s not the only famous style icon she was channeling.
Kate’s Ascot dress was reminiscent of her sister, Pippa Middleton’s wedding dress, which she wore at her nuptials just a month ago. The Ascot dress is an Alexander McQueen design that Kate tweaked to her specifications (mainly, a hemline that hits below the knee.) Pippa’s gown was a custom made creation from British designer Giles Deacon.
It’s hard to deny the similarities between the two dresses. Both are white lace and feature high, nearly mockneck necklines. And both sisters wore accompanying headpieces — for Kate, a fascinator, and Pippa, a veil.
Of course, there are a few key differences — Pippa’s is more formal, with a floor-length hem and a train. And the lace on Kate’s isn’t nearly as thick as the lace on Pippa’s gown.
But when it comes to style, it’s all in the family!
