While it may be nearly two years since filming wrapped on Farmer Wants A Wife for 2023, that doesn’t mean fans have stopped wanting to learn all the details of the final couples!
For fan favourites Farmer Brad Jones and Clare Hockings, their time on the show proved to be just the beginning of their romance.
After moving in together on Brad’s Cootamundra farm shortly after the finale, the pair kept their new romance relatively low profile.
“We couldn’t really be seen together around the community, which was really hard on Clare,” Brad told 7Life, however, once their romance had been aired, the couple shared that life has been “going amazingly.”
In June 2023, the couple shared the exciting update that they were expecting their first child together.
“We didn’t think it would happen as quick as it did,” Brad told New Idea.
Clare, who spoke previously during the late stages of her third trimester, told the publication that she had a “pretty healthy” pregnancy. Aside from a little morning sickness early on, followed by some tiredness, she shared she had been feeling “pretty good” overall at that time.
The couple also shared the exciting news on Instagram, with Clare writing, “We’re so excited to meet our newest little farm hand! Baby Jones due December 🥰”
“Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to congratulate us on our exciting news. We can’t wait to meet Baby Jones come December. We never would have met, let alone [started] a family together if we didn’t go on the Farmer Wants a Wife journey,” Brad shared.
As the first grandchild in Clare’s family, she revealed to New Idea that her parents had already begun buying lots of baby stuff.
“They are so excited,” she explained. “Brad’s parents just welcomed a new granddaughter the other day, so it’ll be nice for our baby to have a little cousin close in age.”
In early October 2023, Brad shared an adorable snap of the couple to Instagram, writing, “Green grass, cows, and Clare. Count down is on.”
In December of that year, Brad and Clare took to Instagram to celebrate the arrival of their son.
“Roy Grahame Jones has arrived 😍,” Brad wrote alongside a snap of the new family of three.
Shortly after Roy’s birth, Clare penned a loving tribute for Brad’s birthday, calling him “the glue that holds our little family together and keeps us laughing along the way.”
“The last 12 months for us have been equivalent to about five years for most couples, but we’ve survived and are still smiling (although a bit sleep-deprived). Roy is so lucky to have such a top dad.”
Sharing regular updates of their life as a new family of three, the couple took to social media to celebrate their first Christmas as a family.
“Roy’s first Christmas! As you can see, he’s a bit weary from all the love and cuddles he received from his family today 🥰,” Clare wrote, adding, “Thanks to everyone for the well wishes, support and love we’ve received since he’s arrived.”
Alongside the sweet message, Clare shared a selection of snaps of baby Roy with the family, with some eagle-eyed fans spotting what appears to be an engagement ring!
“Merry Christmas!! Also is that an engagement ring in the second photo?” wrote one fan.
“Is that a wedding ring? Did I miss something?” added another.
While Brad and Clare have not yet confirmed the engagement rumours, Clare took to Instagram in early January 2024 to reflect on her experience of motherhood so far.
“When I was pregnant I washed, folded and stared at our future baby’s little tiny clothes a million times before he finally arrived, and now he already doesn’t fit in lots of them! Hard to believe how quickly our boy is growing,” Clare wrote.
“Soon he’ll be opening gates for his dad, riding ponies and bikes and wiping off his mum’s kisses, but for now, I’ll give him smooches while he can’t say no 😂.
Celebrating their son’s milestone first birthday in December 2024, Clare shared an adorable compilation of Roy’s cutest moments alongside the caption, “Our Roy boy is 1! Can’t wait to see you continue to grow into the hilarious, bright and non-stop busy little chap that you are, you’re the joy of our lives 🥰😍”
Two months later, the couple celebrated yet another milestone, with Clare documenting Roy’s first day at daycare.
