Oh MAFS…

Married At First Sight has often been called out for its editing trickery, and the latest blunder hasn’t just left the Channel Nine show red-faced, but it also revealed the dating experiment’s flaws.

A major slip up has hinted at what viewers have long suspected: that experts Mel Schilling, John Aiken and newbie Alessandra Rompolla, might not actually be responsible for the  “authentic” matching process when it comes to the couples.

According to post shared by The Wash, the outfits  participants wore to the dinner party were the same ones pictured in the “matching” episodes, where the experts decide which individuals to couple up.

Therefore, according to this new information, the dinner party occurred before the experts were filmed matching the contestants.

So, what is the truth, MAFS? Who is actually doing the matching?

Conspiracy aside for the moment, what gave this flaw away was when the camera zooms in on Belinda Vickers’ photo it shows her wearing the purple dress she wore to the dinner party.

Soon after, the camera closes in on her husband Patrick who is also in his dinner party get up.

The show also reused the photos once again for this week’s “rating task.”

It feels odd that Australia’s biggest reality show couldn’t just print more pictures, but maybe the trip to the printer is a little tedious!

Fans in The Wash’s Instagram comments section had a blast slamming the show as they claimed it has dipped in quality over the last few seasons.

One person complained, “This show just gets worse and worse by the season.”

Another commented, “It seemed so obvious to me and left me feeling puzzled… thanks for sharing.”

Some fans were seemingly unsurprised at the reveal, insisting, “The producers match them (the couples)”.  And considering MAFS has only three success stories to their nam, it wouldn’t be entirely shocking if that was the case.

Despite the drama surrounding their pictures, Belinda, a door-to-door salesperson and her husband, personal trainer, Patrick, seem to have one of the more wholesome relationships this season.

The self-professed inexperienced couple has mostly stayed out of the drama, and they have been a support system for Samantha Harvey, who has been in a rocky relationship with her husband, Cameron Dunne.

It will be interesting to see if any more mishaps reveal themselves over the season, at least besides the inevitable relationship fails.
