Since marrying into the Danish royal family after a chance meeting with King Frederik in a Sydney pub, Queen Mary has very deservedly become an international style icon.

Whether dressed to the nines or biking the kids to school, the Australian-born royal nailed every look from perfectly polished princess to off-duty mum. While she continues to top best-dressed lists and be hailed as one of the most stylish women in the world, ‘Our Mary’ is the first to admit it didn’t come naturally.

“Very early on, it was clear there were expectations about what you wore and how you dressed appropriately to an event,” she previously said. “That was pretty daunting for me. I was a T-shirt and shorts girl, known to go barefoot.”

Whether dripping in jewels while wearing a glamorous gown or in jeans, the Queen sure knows how to turn heads. And thankfully, she continues to pay homage to her roots by wearing plenty of Australian designers.

Queen Mary and King Frederik have set sail on board the Danish royal family’s yacht.

The couple started their four-day cruise on August 19 and headed to Rønne Harbour on Bornholm, an island in the Baltic Sea renowned for its picture-perfect fishing towns and villages.

Thousands of excited locals turned out to see the pair with Danish flags waving in hand.

The Queen made a stylish entrance with a playful take on traditional sailor stripes for the voyage.

After a busy day and a quick change, Queen Mary headed to the Paris La Defense Arena on Day Five of the Olympics to watch the swimming. The stylish royal, who advocates for sustainable fashion, brought out several pieces from her closet that she has been seen in before. Mary donned the Sachi Silk Iris Dandelion Skirt by Ganni with a button-up white blouse and carried a crossbody bag from Chloe.

While the skirt is no longer available, the cult-favourite Scandi brand has a similar style on sale for $118. Check it out here.

Mary was on hand to see fellow Tasmanian Ariarne Titmus take home a gold medal as the Australian women’s 4X200m freestyle relay broke a world record. The Queen gave Titmus a big hug following her achievement. “One of dad’s cousins is married to Mary’s cousin, which is actually pretty funny considering the running joke that everyone born in Tasmanian is somehow related,” the swimmer previously revealed.

Earlier that day, the Queen left the city behind to head to Versailles where she spent the morning enjoying a Dressage competition. Paying tribute to the Danish flag in red and white, Mary beat the heat in a custom-made loose-fitting pinstripe dress from Bogelund-Jensen.

But there was also a little bit of Australia in her outfit, with Mary wearing her favourite Malibu hat from Canopy Bay. Made from travel-friendly Flexibraid, the trilby-shaped broad brim hat is perfect for when on the go and is currently available for $150.
