You’ve definitely heard the statement before and it’s clear that the majority of top-tier romantic comedies are in fact from a bygone era, but that changed in 2023.
Enter Anyone By You. A recent comedy starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell.
When news first broke that the film was getting made and photographs of the leading cast filming in Syndey leaked the internet collectively lost its mind.
And once the movie aired, audiences were *obsessed* – it ticked all the classic rom-com boxes; an all-star cast, a picturesque location and a healthy dose of action (AKA photos of Glen in a helicopter.)

Now, with Anyone But You finally on streaming, fans will be pleased to know Sydney has already been teasing a potential sequel.
Appearing on The Late Night Show With Jimmy Fallon earlier this year, Jimmy Fallon asked the actress if fans could expect a sequel.
Sydney’s response was no denial, teasing there was “a high nine chance.”
“That’s what I’m talking about,” Jimmy responded. “I’m looking forward to seeing it!”
At this stage, we have no other information, and Glen and Sydney have made no other comments – but we’ll keep you updated!
