Starring an incredible cast and helmed by Shiva Baby director Emma Seligman, the film, which was described by Rolling Stone as “the horniest, bloodiest high school movie of the 21st century,” quickly became the must-see movie to the moment.

What is the movie Bottoms about?

The film boasts an up-and-coming cast including The Idol’s Rachel Sennot, The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri, Willow’s Ruby Cruz, model Kaia Gerber and Red, White & Royal Blue’s Nicholas Galitzine.

Bottoms follows two unpopular best friends PJ (Sennot) and Josie (Edebiri) who start a high school fight club to meet girls and lose their virginity. However, their plan goes completely awry and they quickly find themselves in over their heads.

Why is the Bottoms movie rated R?

In the U.S. Bottoms is rated R or Restricted, which means anyone under the age of 17 requires an accompanying parent or guardian to be admitted into the cinema.

Bottoms is rated R for “crude sexual content, pervasive language and some violence.”

We have a different classification process in Australia, however, so the flick is listed as MA 15+, meaning it “contains strong content and is legally restricted to people over the age of 15”.
