The first season of The Penguin may have come to an end, but fans are still buzzing with excitement—and they’re not ready to let go of Gotham’s latest villain just yet.
With its gripping storytelling, memorable characters, and Colin Farrell’s standout performance as Oz Cobb, the series left viewers on the edge of their seats and, like all great mini-series, fans are already petitioning for another chapter of the story.
The season finale was brutal, to say the least, and while it may have wrapped up some storylines, it also introduced a few new questions that fans of the comic book adaptation are dying to explore. Thankfully, it appears that there may be some murmurs throughout the DC universe that a new chapter of The Penguin could potentially be returning to our screens.
Will there be a Season 2 of The Penguin?
After the explosive season finale, fans are clamouring for more, but will there be a second season of The Penguin? While nothing has been 100% confirmed yet, series star Colin Farrell has shared that he’d be eager to reprise his role.
“If there’s a great idea [for Season 2] and the writing was really muscular and as strong, or stronger, on the page than the first season, of course I would do it,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to Farrell, showrunner Lauren LeFranc has also shared her enthusiasm for a second season, telling Forbes, “I mean, I really care about all these characters, even if they are terrible people.”
“It’s been a joy to write them… I think Gotham City is such a fun sandbox to play, and I’d love to keep playing in it, but I think it just has to be the right thing.”
