Welcome to Wrexham, an American sports documentary made its debut in 2022, but now as the soccer team exceeds expectations during their current season, all eyes are on season two.
Welcome to Wrexham follows Hollywood actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds learn to run the third-oldest professional football club in the world.
Season one of the documentary follows the pair purchasing the fifth-tier Red Dragons in the hope of turning Wrexham AFC into an underdog story the whole world can root for, and whilst they may have been slow to start back in 2020 (when the series first began filming) it looks like things are heating up!
In April 2023, Wrexham AFC was officially promoted to League two, and safe to say, fans are impatiently waiting to see the journey on their screens.

First things first let’s answer the biggest question, Welcome to Wrexham has returned for a second season.
Club owners Ryan and Rob took to social media just a week after season one finished airing to confirm they would be back.
“We can also confirm there will a season two of Welcome to Wrexham for our millions of new fans,” Ryan said in a video posted to Twitter.

The release date for Welcome to Wrexham was revealed in the first official trailer for season two, so mark your calendars: The Season is premiering on September 12, 2023 in the United States, and will be released September 13 in Australia.
What will season two of Welcome to Wrexham be about?
Season one of the hit show followed Rob and Ryan in the midst of the pandemic purchasing a football team and the journey of the following 18 months.
Whilst the first season ended on a disappointing note, with the team not getting promoted in the 2021/2022 season, fans can expect a Hollywood tale of triumph in season two.
The second season will likely cover Wrexham’s successful promotion bid from the National League after the club ended their 15-year exile from the Football League to return to League Two in the 2022/20223 season.
