From congresswoman kidnappings to major geopolitical catastrophes, the latest mission log for the Lioness Program covered a lot of ground in eight episodes – leaving viewers begging for Season 3 to *finally* get some answers about the season’s biggest plot points.

Whether you’re craving intel on new characters, plot predictions, or just need a refresher on where things left off, we’ve got you covered. Here’s everything we know about Special Ops: Lioness Season 3 so far.

What is Special Ops: Lioness about?

Special Ops: Lioness is a thrilling action-packed series that takes us behind the scenes of elite covert military operations. The show centres around a field agent named Joe (played by Zoe Saldana) – a tough and skilled CIA operative who leads a top-secret team of female operatives in the ‘Lioness Program.’

Their mission? To infiltrate and take down dangerous terrorist organisations by using female agents to get close to targets in ways traditional operatives can’t.

While many of their undercover missions may take centre stage, Special Ops: Lioness also delves deeper into the moral conflicts and personal relationships of the agents involved in some of the CIA’s most intense operations.

Is Special Ops: Lioness based on a true story?

Special Ops: Lioness is *very* loosely based on a true story.

At the height of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the CIA deployed ‘Team Lioness’ – a collective of female U.S. Marines – to assist the ground troops in searching local women while respecting local and religious customs that prohibit physical contact with men.

After a dramatic Season 2 finale, fans are itching to uncover what’s next for the Lioness Program.

Unfortunately for viewers, the show has yet to be renewed for Season 3, but it also hasn’t officially been cancelled – giving fans some hope that the series will return at some stage in the latter half of 2025.
