On the eve of her first stop on The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift surprised fans with four new tracks.

Tay took to Instagram to announce the release of four new singles, including Eyes Open (Taylor’s Version), Safe & Sound (Taylor’s Version), If This Was a Movie (Taylor’s Version) and All Of the Girls You’ve Loved Before.
Three of the new releases are re-recorded versions from the Taylor Swift back catalogue.
Eyes Open and Safe & Sound originally belonged on the Hunger Games soundtrack, with the re-recorded version of Safe & Sound slated to feature musicians Joy Williams and John Boy.
Meanwhile, If This Was A Movie was recorded for her 2010 album Speak Now.
Speak Now is the latest album to get the ‘Taylor’s Version’ treatment, in a multi-year project in which the singer/songwriter is re-recording her music catalogue.
In 2019, Swift expressed her disappointment at the sale of her back catalogue and masters to record executive Scooter Braun. She has since re-recorded and released her old songs with the added ‘Taylor’s Version’ mark in order to reclaim ownership of the sold tracks.
The unprecedented project has been phenomenally successful, particularly with the release of Red (Taylor’s Version), which featured a 10-minute recording of the track All Too Well.
The remaining song in the new releases, All Of The Girls You’ve Loved Before, is brand new but some are speculating it was originally destined for the Lover album.
Along with the announcement of her new releases, Taylor also took to social media to share new photos, which appear to be behind-the-scenes shots from The Eras Tour rehearsals.
The images capture Swift in various stages of rehearsal, whether she’s mid-performance or sitting on the stage in a comfy sweater, tights and sneakers.
She also shared her Eras Tour nails, with each fingernail painted a colour matching to her previous album eras. For example, a black thumb nail appears to represent her Reputation album era, while a red nail represents – you guessed it – Red.
Taylor’s The Eras Tour is starting on March 17, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. Interestingly, Glendale is changing its name for March 17 and 18 to ‘Swift City’, to celebrate being the first stop on the tour.
