Speaking to Pete, Matt and Kymba’s morning radio show, Brooke revealed a telling detail that Steve is not the person for her.

“I can see the name Ryan [sic] and ‘podiatrist’, and I’m thinking ‘that’s who you want to end up with – someone who will look after your feet’,” one of the hosts commented jokingly, accidentally mis-naming contestant Steve, who is the podiatrist hoping to win Brooke’s heart.

“If I liked my feet being touched,” Brooke clarified while laughing. “I’m actually the opposite.”

“Ryan, you’re out son, sorry,” the host joked.

The hosts also discussed the parade of ‘schticks’ to come down the red carpet, as is customary on the show for the contestants to do something to both impress Brooke and show their personality.

“None of them were embarrassing for me because I went in really open-minded about that stuff, everyone has their unique personalities,” Brooke explained.

“I think you’re really going to love some of the entrances this year because I walked away after meeting all my contestants … and I was like ‘everyone was amazing’,” she admitted.

Brooke is the first bisexual Bachelorette to star on the show, and the first to have both men and women competing to win her heart.

She is also the first First Nations lead on the show, a role that she has confirmed is very important to her.

“Are you okay flying the flag for people who are bisexual, people who identify that way, and Indigenous people? Because that’s the way you’re being presented, right?” Brooke was asked.

“Yeah, I always have. I’ve always been really proud of who I am, and who I’ve sort of become,” Brooke said.

“I feel like I’ve become more comfortable in my skin in the last couple of years,” she added, attributing her growing confidence to her first experience on the show.
