After a very gruelling season indeed, perhaps mostly for Channel 10 as they tried to drum up viewership for the series, the inaugural season of The Challenge Australia is officially over – and the two winners have been crowned.

In the rollercoaster of a finale, in which the six remaining competitors – Brooke Jowett, Kiki Morris, Brittany Hockley, Troy Cullen, Conor Curran and Ciarran Stott – were put through their places one last time, the female and male champions were announced, each earning an impressive $100,000.
Once everything was tallied, it was up to host Brihony Dawson to announce the shortest overall challenge times and, subsequently, the winners.
It was a landslide for the boys, with Ninja Warrior alum Troy Cullen winning the competition by a whopping 20 minutes.
“My friends and family are going to be so proud; this has been an absolutely awesome experience,” he said upon learning he had won.
In second place for the men was The Bachelor’s Ciarran Stott, followed by MasterChef’s Conor.
The runner-up got into some hot water (literally) early in the season when he was caught fooling around in a shower with fellow competitor Audrey Kanongara, despite having a partner back home.
It’s OK though, he said he’d make it up to his love by winning the $100,000. Whoopsy.
As for the women, the final result was much closer, with nine minutes separating first and second place.
The Bachelor’s Kiki Morris took home the gold and the $100,000 – joking that she’d spend it on a lifetime supply of lashes and nails.
“To win this right now is probably the most important, exciting thing I’ve ever done,” the reality star said. “This wasn’t just a modelling competition or a beauty pageant, it was the most gruelling mental and physical thing I’ve ever done. I’ve proven myself; I’ve succeeded and I’ve won.”
In runner-up position was Survivor’s Brooke Jowett, and second runner-up was Brittany Hockley from The Bachelor, who recently came under fire from Abbie Chatfield for “slut shaming”.
As the winners, Troy and Kiki will now go on to represent Australia in the Challenge world championships! Best of luck to them.
The Challenge Australia debuted to lacklustre ratings in November this year.
As a result, the series was condensed to fewer weeks and pulled from the network to stream exclusively on 10 Shake.
With that in mind, we wonder if the show will or won’t be renewed for a second season?
