Recently, baby name inspiration has been coming from wackier and wackier places, and one woman has shared her friend named their child ‘the strangest baby name EVER’ and asked for other parents opinions.Â
Posting to popular parenting site, Netmums, Annalise D revealed her friend has chosen a ‘crazy’ baby name.Â
Telling the site the bub had been named ‘Abcde’, to be pronounced ‘Ab-si-dee’, the fellow mum asked for opinions on the name.Â
She said, ‘I’ve never heard of this name before – has anyone else?’​

One mum wrote, ‘It should be illegal to saddle children with names like that. Awful.’Â
Another added, ‘That is the silliest name I’ve ever heard – but kudos for the imaginative pronunciation. Some parents are too cruel.’Â
Other comments ranged from ‘OMG’, ‘Is that a joke?’, ‘Poor child’ and ‘That’s just cruel.’Â
Surprisingly though – 328 girls in the US shared the name.Â
Vocativ reported that in 2014 there were 328 girls in the United States with the unusual name – with 32 babies being called Abcde in 2009 alone.
