Radio host Woody Whitelaw was the first celeb confirmed for the latest season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
In the second episode of season nine, the radio host opened up about becoming a father and his relationship with therapy.

Woody and his partner, Mimi Gibbs, welcomed their daughter, Remi, in October last year.
Speaking with actress Debra Lawrance, Woody said his self-doubt surrounding fatherhood drove him to see a psychologist.
“I hadn’t done any therapy or anything before my partner fell pregnant, and I’m glad this did drive me to therapy, but I went through this really shocking period where, as soon as Mim fell pregnant, I had this belief I wasn’t going to be a good dad and I wasn’t ready,” he shared.
“I was ready but in my head it was like, ‘nah, you haven’t got your s**t together, you won’t be a good dad, you can’t look after another life.'”
Woody went on to detail his concerns and reasons he sought therapy.
“The main thing we were working through was, like, ‘why don’t you think you’re going to be a good dad?’ At the end of the day it was just the unknown. [It was] because I didn’t know what it was going to be like. And as soon as [Remi] came into the world, thankfully, I loved being a dad.”
Before the series premiered, the KIIS personality shared a hilarious video of his fiancée and baby at home, chatting about him while he’s in the African jungle.
Wooody recently set-off for the latest I’m A Celeb series, leaving Mimi and six-month-old Remi back at home.
The family later poked fun at dad in a humourous clip posted on Instagram.

“Daddy’s been gone for a few days now, and you’re probably wondering where he is…” the video begins, with Mimi speaking to a dead-pan baby Remi.
“Oh, you haven’t wondered that… Well, Daddy’s gone to the jungle to be on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Channel 10. Isn’t that exciting? Because he’s a ce-leb-rity.”
Cut to: Baby Remi remaining highly (and adorably) unimpressed.
“Sorry, what? He’s a D-grade celebrity?” Mimi jabs at the KIIS FM host. “Oh, he’s not even a D-grade celebrity!”
While the pair have their fingers crossed for dad, the sweet skit proves there’s no shortage of fun and humour in the Whitelaw-Gibbs house!
Who is Woody Whitelaw’s wife?
Woody is engaged to artist and stylist Mimi Gibbs.
In 2022, Whitelaw proposed to Gibbs while in the back yard of their home.
Mimi is a successful entrepreneur, co-owning a real estate styling business, Room In A Box.
Mimi is also a multi-talented visual artist who creates flowing abstract paintings and the occasional piece of pop art.
After Mimi gave birth in October last year, Woody penned a touching tribute to his partner alongside footage of the labour.
“To my fiercely tough fiancé, I didn’t think it was possible to love you any more than I already did. But after watching you bravely fight your way through labour, I realize how bloody wrong I was,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I can’t wait to show some of this footage to our beautiful daughter, Remi. Not to make her feel bad, but rather to help her with the choice of who her favourite parent is. You’re the best bloody Mum in the world and we love you very much.”
Does Woody Whitelaw have kids?
Yes, Woody and Mimi have one daughter, Remi Jean Whitelaw.
Remi was born on October 4, 2022 with Woody taking to Instagram to announce the news.
“Everyone meet Remi Jean Whitelaw,” the caption read. “Birthed this lil queen on the 4th of October. Mummy and Daddy love you more than you’ll ever know.”
Upon announcing he was headed to the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here season 9, Woody admitted he was nervous about being away from Mimi and Remi.
“There are mixed emotions to be heading into the jungle. I’m obviously excited to be getting a free flight to South Africa and becoming best mates with some cool celebs, but there is also the reality of being away from my girls for an extended period of time,” he said.
“I haven’t been away from Rem for over three days since she was born, so I really don’t know how I’m going to handle that.”
