He’s been living Down Under for almost a year so it’s safe to say that Zac Efron is now an unofficial Aussie. But the handsome actor has debuted a surprising new look that shows just how much he’s embraced our country.
33-year-old Zac is currently in South Australia filming Gold– a Stan original thriller movie abotu two strangers travelling through the desert who find the biggest ever gold nugget.
The Hollywood star has been spotted in Byron Bay (where he met his Aussie girlfriend Vanessa Valladares) as well as Sydney’s eastern suburbs but his latest photo proves that the outback is where it’s at.
Posting to Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday, Zac shared a photo of himself standing outside his caravan and wearing a very Aussie Akubra hat.
“Home sweet home. Thanks, @lotus_caravans 🤙 #setlife #goldonstan,” he captioned the snap.
The actor also shared another snap of himself to his Instagram Stories sitting back in a camp chair in front of his caravan.
Zac’s fans were delighted to see him embracing the great outdoors Australia has to offer.
“Nothing better than vanlife around Australia! Hopefully see you out there somewhere! #lifeisbetteroutside,” one person penned on Twitter.
“Australia looks good on you,” wrote another on Instagram.
“He’s a true Aussie bloke now!! What a legend,” exclaimed a third.
WHO previously reported that Zac Efron is keen to call Australia his permanent home.
“Zac’s loving his life in Australia,” a source told Us Weekly. “He’s very happy with his girlfriend. It’s serious,” they added.
One of the reasons the High School Musical star is so anchored to Australia is because of his love life – Zac met girlfriend Vanessa while she was working at The Byron Bay General Store in June 2020.
But Zac spoke about his love for the country back in 2017.
“I’ve fallen in love with Australia. I love the people, the culture and the beach,” he said in an interview at the time.
Zac extended his visa after cancelling a trip to the US last September and even listed his LA home for sale and it seems to be a good move for the former party boy.
Back in 2013, Zac went to rehab for alcohol and substance issues.
“He hangs out with the Hemsworths. He goes surfing. He’s come a long way from partying in LA,” a source confirmed.
