Isabelle Cornish is just one of the many tough Australian celebs joining the cast of SAS Australia this year, which is just a week away from kicking off.
The actress, model and writer has a few notable credits under her belt, having starred on the likes of Home and Away and Puberty Blues.
She is taking up the challenge to join and compete in SAS Australia in its’ second year running, alongside the likes of Sam Burgess, Brynne Edelsten, Jett Kenny and Pete Murray.
However, a lot of people will recognise Isabelle’s last name, which is shared with her big sister Abbie.
Abbie, who got her break alongside Sam Worthington in the independent film Somersault in 2004, has gone on to work in Hollywood alongside some pretty big names.
Abbie was born in 1982 and is the second child of parents Barry and Shelley Cornish.
The family lived on a 170-acre property in Lochinvar, in country New South Wales, before moving to Newcastle some years later when Isabelle was young.
She had a successful film career in Australia, with Somersault winning a number of awards.
She also starred as the titular role in Candy alongside Heath Ledger, for which she won the Film Critics Circle of Australia for Best Actress in a Lead Role.
Her first US-based role, A Good Year, came out in 2006. The Ridley Scott-directed film saw her working alongside Russell Crowe and Marion Cotillard, and saw her launch into further overseas roles.
Abbie made a real name for herself when she starred in the 2008 war drama, Stop-Loss, where she met and starred alongside her future partner, Ryan Phillipe.
Although the film was released in 2008, production began two years earlier, in 2006, meaning that Abbie has been the constant subject of rumours that she and Phillipe were engaged in an affair while he was still married to Reese Witherspoon. They dated for about four years.
Abbie’s career has remained strong in recent years, with a number of film credits now under her belt.
She starred in the critically-acclaimed film Three Billnoards Outside Ebbing, Missouri alongside Wood Harrelson and Frances McDormand.
Collectively, Abbie and her castmates won the Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.
Abbie is engaged currently to MMA fighter Adel Altamimi, as shared on Instagram in 2019.
They are a notoriously private couple, not often sharing images of each other on social media.
Abbie has also spent the last year dabbling in another passion: music.
She worked with DJ Debris, who has previously worked with Hilltop Hoods, to release a number of rap songs titled MVP, Zombies and I’ll Be There for You, all under the name ‘Dusk’.
