He’s notoriously private when it comes to his personal life, but word is out that James McAvoy has married his girlfriend, Lisa Liberati in a secret ceremony.

The couple met on the set of the movie Split in 2017 – where Lisa was working as a production assistant for M Night Shyamalan – while Scottish star James was in the process of divorcing actress Anne-Marie Duff after 11 years of marriage.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted 40-year-old Lisa during a recent trip to Philadelphia, prompting speculation that she and the X-Men star had got married in private.
According to the Daily Mail, Jamie Lloyd, the director of James’s upcoming West End play Cyrano de Bergerac, was overheard at David Suchet’s party in London last week describing how Lisa visits him often during rehearsals. He referred to Lisa as James’s ‘wife’ and said they married ‘recently’.
James and Lisa met whilst James was still married to Anne-Marie, however the pair currently in the process of separating.
The couple became Instagram official at Halloween 2018 after partying alongside the cast and crew of Shyamalan’s follow-up film, Glass.
At the time of his separation from Anne-Marie, whom he met on the set of British TV series Shameless, the couple released a joint statement saying: “It is with tremendous sadness that we have come to the decision to divorce.
“We enter this next phase with continued friendship, love and respect for one another and the shared focus of caring for our son.
“We ask that you respect our and, most importantly, our child’s privacy during this time.”
