Things between Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez continue to heat up!
The former flames, who dated on-and-off from 2010 to 2015, have been fueling relationship reconciliation rumors while spending time together in the wake of Gomez’s split from The Weeknd. And though multiple sources told PEOPLE over the weekend the duo are still not officially back together and are taking a more low-key approach to their relationship, they appeared to be close as can be on Wednesday night when they were photographed kissing at Bieber’s weekly hockey game at Los Angeles Valley Ice Center in Ventura, California.
“Justin is still very happy. They have had quiet date nights at home and outings to local, low-key sports,” a Bieber pal tells PEOPLE exclusively. “They are still catching up and just enjoying hanging out. They have learned from past mistakes and are not putting any pressure on each other. Things are much different and more mature.”
As fans may remember, Gomez, 25, cheered Bieber on at a game earlier this month — even leaving wearing the 23-year-old “Love Yourself” singer’s New Jersey Devils hockey jersey.
This time she rocked an all-black ensemble as she leaned over the ice divider and shared a kiss with the Biebs, who was dressed in his hockey gear.
Bieber and Gomez went through a period of estrangement following an Instagram spat last summer after Bieber flaunted his new relationship with Sofia Richie on Instagram. But according to multiple sources, Bieber reached out to the “Wolves” singer after learning about her kidney transplant.
They had their differences in the past, of course, but Bieber is apparently hoping it’s not too late to say “Sorry.”
An insider close to the pair previously told PEOPLE, “Justin is happy Selena is single. He hopes to regain her trust so they can get back together.”
They’ve been photographed multiple times together since — riding bikes, heading to dinner and attending church but are still taking things slow. “They just backed off a little from being out there,” said one source.
According to a Bieber pal, the attention on them got “too crazy” and the he “didn’t like the chaos.”
“Justin canceled his tour to take care of his mental health and he wants to continue to focus on this,” added the Bieber pal. “They agreed to stay more low-key.”
Another source tells PEOPLE, “Justin is still very happy. They have had quiet date nights at home and outings to local, low-key spots. They are still catching up and just enjoy hanging out. They have learned from past mistakes and are not putting any pressure on each other. Things are much different and more mature.”
