Robert Pattinson in brief
The first time you saw Robert Pattinson, 33, was probably as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire when he was just 18.
Pattinson had earned his stripes in youth theatre in England but it was in 2008 when he became a household name.
Cast as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie, his acting combined with undeniable on-screen chemistry with Kristen Stewart led him to being cast in the ongoing TV saga of the same name.
The lowdown on Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart began acting at the age of 8 but it was her role as the diabetic daughter of Jodie Foster in Panic Room that got her noticed and she was nominated for a Young Artist Award.
Stewart went on to act in numerous films including The Yellow Handkerchief, Welcome to the Rileys and then as Isabella Swan in Twilight.
According to Forbes, she was the highest paid actress in 2012, with total earnings of $34.5million.
The Twilight Years
Pattinson and Stewart’s relationship started with Twilight in 2008. Stewart and Pattinson were cast as co-dependent vampire-mortal lovers and that love crossed over into real life.
They were on-screen, off-screen sweethearts and the world was obsessed with their chemistry.
Trouble in paradise
In July 2012, The Telegraph reported that Pattison had moved out of the K-Pat love nest because Stewart had an affair with Rupert Sanders.
Stewart met Sanders on the set of Snow White and the Hunstman.
Sanders, the director of the movie, was married at the time. His wife, Liberty Ross, was also in the movie. She played Stewart’s mother, Queen Eleanor. You could call it complicated. Stewart called it a “momentary indiscretion”.
It was the end of Stewart and Pattinson’s romance and the world was upset. Mostly with Stewart.
None less than Donald Trump who tweeted “Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again—just watch. He can do much better!”
Post break-up
After cheating on and splitting from Pattinson, Stewart opened up about her sexuality and began openly dating women.
First there was visual effects artist Alicia Cargile, then French singer, Solo. After that came musician St. Vincent and Victoria’s Secret model, Stella Maxwell.
Stewart was recently spotted getting cosy with screenwriter Dylan Meyer but says she is still interested in men.
“The whole issue with sexuality is so gray. I’m just trying to acknowledge that fluidity, that grayness, which has always existed,” she told The Guardian.
Are Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart dating again?
The current rumour is that Kristin Stewart and Robert Pattinson are once again ‘a thing’.
In short, they’re not.
While Stewart has been frequently dating, Pattinson has also had a couple of girlfriends.
In 2015 Pattinson got engaged to British singer FKA Twigs but two years later he apparently called it off due to conflicting schedules.
Pattinson is currently dating Bradley Cooper’s one time girlfriend Suki Waterhouse and has been for the past year so any chance of a Robsten reunion is slim.
