On Monday morning, Aussie royal fans woke to the exciting news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor had been born two days earlier on June 4.
In their official statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that they had been “blessed” with their new arrival adding: “She is more than we could have ever imagined.”
Though she is already a proud mum to two-year-old Archie, two, Meghan already had a gift lined up for her daughter – and she had it way before she met Prince Harry!

Speaking to Canadian HELLO! back in 2015, the then Suits star revealed she splurged on a special accessory when the show was renewed for a third season.
“I’ve always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch. When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version,” she told the publication.
But the watch will one day belong to Lili as Meghan had a special message engraved on it.
“I had it engraved on the back, ‘To M.M. From M.M.’ and I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That’s what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.”
The Cartier Tank Watch comes in many styles and ranges from AU$5,100 to AU$44,000.

The Cartier watch isn’t Meghan’s only sentimental piece of jewellery.
Her engagement ring has a link back to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, whose name is also Lilibet’s middle name as it features two round diamonds (estimated at just under a carat each) from Diana’s personal jewellery collection.
“Obviously not being able to meet his mum, it’s so important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us,” she said during her and Harry’s official engagement interview in 2017, adding that the ring is “incredibly special.”
Meghan has also worn Diana’s famous butterfly earrings and for her and Prince Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, donned a diamond tennis bracelet that looks very much like a piece from her late mother-in-law’s collection.
