First, it was Hawaii, then Italy, and now Thailand’s Koh Samui.
If there’s one thing we know about HBO’s The White Lotus – apart from they shouldn’t have killed off Jennifer Coolidge’s character – it’s that the hit series has a knack for putting holiday destinations into the spotlight (if you’re looking for the real White Lotus hotels, click here).
Per Webjet, in the two weeks following the series trailer release, bookings to Koh Samui surged by 28 per cent compared to the same time in 2024.
Admittedly, with its crystal blue water and white sandy beaches, Thailand’s second-largest island needs little help selling itself.
So, if you’re after a slice of paradise, read on for our recommendations on where to stay, drink and dine in Koh Samui.

The best places to dine and drink in Koh Samui 2025

01
Jahn at Conrad Koh Samui
Taling Ngam, Koh Samui
Perched on a hilltop with stunning ocean views and serving just 24 guests, this candle-lit restaurant is exclusive, to say the least. With a contemporary menu heroing steak, Jahn, inside the Conrad Hotel, serves up prime cuts of meat sourced from Australia and Japan (however, our eyes are on the mud crab). This Taling Ngam gem screams romantic dinner for two.

02
Nahm Restuarant and Bar
Bophut, Koh Samui
Located near the Bangrak Market and the Big Buddha Temple of Samui, this is your go-to for unfussy dining. We’re talking classic aromatic curries, prawn rolls that you can share, and burgers and fries. All are best served with a refreshing glass of orange wine or a creative cocktail, of course.
When is the best time to visit Koh Samui?
The best time to visit Koh Samui is between December and March for dry and warm weather without as much of the humidity Thailand typically gets. If you’re after more affordable accommodation and don’t mind the rain, travel from September to November.
