Austen Bujega & Claudia Bonifazio

Season Four, 2022

Claudia and Austen were undeniably one of the strongest couples of the 2022 season and it came as no surprise when they won.

“We are officially boyfriend and girlfriend now, still together and still in love,” Austen shared with WHO after the finale aired.

“It’s been really good, better on the outside than in the Villa,” added Claudia.

Now, in 2024 Claudia and Austen are still together, regularly sharing glimpses into their relationship with fans online.

Despite being one of the newer couples of the season, it was immediately clear there was some serious chemistry between Kale and Tyra before they won the 2023 season.

They quickly confirmed to our sister site TV WEEK that they were still together after the finale aired, and a year later they’re still going strong!

From matching tattoos to adopting a puppy, the couple are moving from strength to strength.

Season five, 2023

Making the top five, Nate and Georgia had a tumultuous time on the show in 2023 but were excited to give their relationship a go in the outside world. Despite having a “bit of a break” after giving things a go in Sydney, the pair realised there was “still a spark” between them and quickly got back together.

Now, over a year later, the couple are still going strong.

Whilst the other relationships may have now come to an end, that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten those once-iconic villa pairings. Which is why, we’re *also* looking back at the remaining Love Island Australia couples, and what happened to their relationships.

After placing third in the series, the couple went from strength to strength in their relationship once they left the show hand-in-hand.

Sadly though the pair announced they’d broken up in May 2022 after four years together.

Season One, 2018

In one of the most scandalous breakups to rock the first season of Love Island, Grant Crapp won the show alongside Tayla Damir before dumping her to return to his girlfriend outside the show, Lucy Cartwright.

Grant and Lucy now have two children together, and Tayla is married to AFL player Nathan Broad, with the couple sharing a daughter together.

Season Two, 2019

Season two winners Josh Packham and Anna McEvoy had a good run, lasting in a relationship together for 12 months after the series aired.

They moved in together during the pandemic, but lockdowns in Melbourne put a strain on their relationship, and they split in November 2020.

Josh went on to compete on The Block with his twin brother and fellow Love Island alum, Luke, whilst Anna recently announced she is expecting her first child with husband, Michael Staples.

The fourth-place pair of the second season didn’t make it much further past the airing of their finale and took to Instagram to announce their split.

“This post isn’t easy to write and isn’t something I want to be confirming but sadly, yes the relationship between Todd and I is over,” Jessie wrote at the time. “I’ve loved every minute spent with Todd from the moment he walked into that villa and absolutely adore him but I guess some things just aren’t meant to be.

Jessie has since begun dating Farmer Will after meeting on Love Island UK, whilst Todd is engaged to Natalie Eager.

Season Three, 2021

Courtney confirmed her split from Noah to WHO the day after their final episode aired.

The duo were eliminated from the show in the penultimate episode, after a rocky road to romance when Noah entered the Villa as a bomb. Courtney admits that doing long distance – with border closures between Australian states – appears to have been their undoing.

Courtney is currently in a relationship with former MAFS star Jack Millar and the couple welcomed their first child together in 2023.

It took him a while to get there, but Taku managed to turn “friend island” into “love island” when Michela arrived. After being eliminated from the Villa, Taku confirmed they were in an exclusive relationship in an interview with WHO.

“Me and her are exclusive at the moment … I don’t want to see anyone else, and I just really want to see this through,” Taku confirmed at the time. “We are trying to find our feet at the moment, but so far, so good.”

We had our fingers crossed for these two, as they kept up the flirty banter on Instagram in the finale week, but things soon fizzled out.

Tayla confirmed she was no longer with Ryan, announcing their break-up in an Instagram Stories Q&A with her co-stars Ari and Michela shortly after the finale aired.

“No, I’m definitely not with him,” she said at the time. “I wish him all the best… but yeah, he is just not my kind of guy. Not my morals.”

“Australia was right, and he definitely proved that,” she added, in her own Q&A when she answered the same question.

“I did actually like him, but I was apprehensive. I did give him the benefit of the doubt, we were going to do a road trip together and I flew to Sydney, but I’ve learnt the hard way…” she said, trailing off.

Season Three, 2021

Following the 2021 finale it became clear that Jess and Aaron were no longer loved-up, posting nothing about their relationship while their fellow co-stars shared happy updates.

Jess then confirmed the news on her Instagram Stories, after the cast were seen partying together the first weekend after the finale aired.

“Hey guys, a lot of people have been asking about Aaron and I. Unfortunately we are no longer together,” she wrote. “We both agreed it’s for the best for the both of us. Appreciate all of your love and support.”

In an interview with 9Now, Aaron confirmed the drama that almost saw him leave the Villa – where Jess believed he gave her a “filthy look” when her “boob popped out” – was part of the cause.

“We still had issues seeing eye to eye on a situation in the Villa,” he said. “I wanted to move past it, and at least thought we could grow from it, but there was no real growth there, so I just felt like it was best to part ways.”

Season Three + Season Four, 2021-2022

Rumours of cheating between the reality TV couple had been bubbling away for a few weeks since the pair announced their split in February.

Tina confirmed to Abbie that Mitch had not cheated, but rather moved on very quickly with fellow Love Island co-star Emily Ward.

Tina and Mitch briefly attempted to rekindle things when they appeared on Love Island the following season, but it just wasn’t meant to be for these love birds.

Season Four, 2022

Mitch and Phoebe were one of the strongest couples on Love Island Australia in season four, which may come as a surprise since the pair have had their fair share of ups and downs during their time in the Villa.

Despite their rollercoaster relationship, they made it to the end of the season, making it all the way to the top three before transitioning their love into the real world.

It came as a surprise to fans in July 2024 when Phoebe and Mitch announced their separation.

“I honestly never thought I’d be writing this…but unfortunately Mitch and I have separated,” Phoebe shared on her Instagram stories.

Despite being one of the strongest couples of the 2023 season, the couple’s relationship only survived a few months after filming.

Although Lucinda has remained pretty tight-lipped following their split, Zac has shared a few updates online.

“Hey guys, just thought I’d let you know that Lucinda and I have decided to go our separate ways,” he wrote in his initial statement. “I’m not feeling too good about the situation and appreciate all the support so far.”

Season Five, 2023

Despite being together a mere 9 days before the finale, Sav and Clint surprised everyone by making the top three in season five. It’s clear the chemistry was there – however, Clint admitted they broke things off soon after leaving the Villa.

“Savannah, and I called it pretty quickly after the show,” Clint shared with WHO at the time.

“Realistically – Clint came in really late – we’d known each other for ten days,” Sav told TV WEEK. “We’re really good mates and we still talk but it just didn’t really progress.”
