Married At First Sight has given us plenty of cheating scandals in recent years but none was quite as dramatic as the partner swap of Jessika Power and Dan Webb.

When love failed to blossom with her husband Mick Gould, Jessika made a move on Dan, who had been wed to Tamara Joy.

The scandalous affair led to the infamous wine-throwing incident with Martha Kalifatidis and Cyrell Paule. Despite it all, Dan and Jessika seemed genuinely loved up, until they weren’t, splitting on live TV during an episode of Talking Married.

Both Dan and Jessika received a lot of criticism not just from their co-stars but also fans.

Now, reflecting on the drama and his actions, the MAFS groom admits, “I put the blame back on myself.”

“I made poor choices along the way,” Dan tells Who. “I got caught in on a bit of a rabbit hole and when I was in it, it was either keep digging or try to get out and I just kept digging.”

“It was me that made a decision, so I’ll put the blame back on myself for what happened. But it was a learning curve and it made good TV didn’t it?” he says with a laugh.

Despite a tumultuous breakup with Jessika, Dan says there are “no grudges” being held.

“I hold no ill respect to anyone else but myself,” he says.

In fact, the exes reunited recently for an Instagram Live event.

“She came around and we had a bit of a chat,” he explains.

“We’re on talking terms. I think she’s with someone now and I wish her the best of luck.”

Dan too is ready to find love with someone new and is joining Ashley Airvin (MAFS), Paddy Colliar (The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise) and Nina Rolleston (The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise) in a new dating experiment, that’s completely online – perfect for dating during COVID-19.

Going Live for Love will air fortnightly on YouTube from tonight and is hosted by qualified love coach Belinda Love, who once vied for Matty J’s heart on The Bachelor.

“I thought I would give it a go,” Dan says of joining the show, “I couldn’t do any worse than what I did last time.”

“Doing something like this where it’s live and you can see who I really am is probably a good thing, rather than [footage] getting mixed and matched around to make it look like someone else.”

Dan’s five-year-old son is also keen to see his dad to get back into dating.

“He’s been asking when am I going to have a girlfriend, like mummy has a boyfrirend, so I’ve been getting the kick up the butt from him,” he says with a laugh.

“So it’d be lovely to do that. I’m at the point in my life now where I’m sort of looking to settle down.”

The first episode of Going Live For Love airs tonight at 7.30pm here
