As per tradition, all of the Married At First Sight brides and grooms of the season came back to Sydney for the final reunion dinner party on Wednesday night’s episode. That is, all except Chris Jensen.
Chris Jensen became quite the breakout star when he and his intruder bride Jaimie Gardner joined the experiment.
However after just a week of reality TV marriage, the groom decided to leave the experiment after a particularly explosive argument with his wife.
“I came in here to give my heart and to put everything in and I did. I hope that I will actually find the one that I’m supposed to be with and they just want to be with me too,” he mused in his final episode.
However, despite becoming a fan favourite, Chris did not attend the MAFS reunion and we may know the reason why.
Shortly after his final episode aired, reports surfaced that Chris had an alleged brush with the law and it’s suspected that this is the reason why he did not attend the reunion.
The MAFS groom spoke out in the wake of the reports on social media, thanking his fans and supporters.
“I am not perfect, I am not trying to be however, I will always be real. I am human. If my heart is in the right place and I try my best then I am ok with this,” he penned.
“I am a son, I am a brother, I am a father, I am an uncle, I am a friend. I take a great deal of pride in being all of these roles. Thank you to each of you who have accepted and supported me for ME. I appreciate it. I hope you each are appreciated to for who you are and being the real you.”
WHO has reached out to Channel Nine for comment.
Though Chris wasn’t at the reunion, his on-screen wife Jaimie made an appearance and hinted at Chris’s absence.
In an Instagram Q&A, one fan asked the MAFS bride why she was brought back to the reunion.
“Everyone is invited back and contractually it’s sort of obliged,” she replied.
“Only one person didn’t show.”
After she left the show, Jaimie, who copped quite the villain edit, shared a very cryptic statement about her time on the show.
“What a showdown! Masking my own truth and being held accountable for someone else’s insecurities has been utterly exhausting,” she captioned a photo of herself in her wedding dress.
“I’m grateful that the experience has taught me to trust my gut, stand up for myself and put my own needs at the forefront.”
Jaimie added: “Whilst I didn’t meet my ‘perfect’ man (because that doesn’t exist) I have more clarity on what I do and don’t need in my life. I am ready for a real and genuine man that is ready for a mature relationship. Here’s to hoping I’ll meet ‘the one’ someday soon.
“I want to thank those people that brought light to my days and made me smile. Might catch you at the reunion! Be kind to one another. xx.”
