But while some stars might jet off around to an exotic locale or a tropical island paradise for their honeymoon, the Lizzie McGuire star and her muso hubby decided to keep things low key post-nuptials.

The morning after they tied the knot, Hilary and Matt took their 14-month-old daughter Banks out for breakfast in Studio City, California, reveals E! News, with a source spilling that a staycation was in store for the newlyweds.

“They both wore their new wedding bands and were all smiles,” an eyewitness told E! News.

“After breakfast, they took Banks home and then departed for a local honeymoon at a nearby hotel.”

After checking into their accommodation, the loved-up duo kept it casual with a stroll around the property and some chill-out time by the fire, before settling in for the night, added the source.

But not before snapping a quick wedding-band mirror selfie, of course!

Of the pair’s decision to opt for a small-scale staycation, a source explained to E! News that the children (Hilary also has a seven-year old son, Luca, from her first marriage to ice-hockey player Mike Comrie) were a driving force.

“They wanted to sneak away quickly and have some alone time to celebrate. With the holidays coming this week, they are all about family time right now and being together with the kids.”

But don’t discount that Insta-worthy holiday just yet! E! News’ source also spilled that a second honeymoon is on the cards.

“They weren’t able to do the big exotic honeymoon, but are planning for that. Getting away locally made the most sense with the short amount of time there was.”

The couple’s nuptials were kept simple, too, it seems.

According to People, the surprise wedding was held at Hilary’s home and was only attended by friends and close friends of the pair.

“The wedding was at her house. It was small and low-key. Only family and close friends,” a source revealed to People.

“The ceremony started at sunset and they got married inside the house. When the ceremony was over, guests cheered.”

Among the celebrity guests were Mandy Moore and her muso husband Taylor Goldsmith, who shared snaps of the special day on social media. Hilary’s sister, Haylie Duff, was also involved in planning the big day.

“Haylie was very involved in the wedding prep too. Hilary and Haylie are very close,” the insider spilled.

Following the 20-minute ceremony, “They thanked everyone for being there and then yelled, ‘Party!'” an eyewitness spilled to E! News. “Everyone erupted in laughter and got a big kick out of them.”

“The evening moved into a different tent for dinner and dancing and everyone seemed to have a great time.”

The couple announced their engagement in May 2019, with Hilary posting a sweet snap of her smiling and showing off a huge diamond ring.

The star has a busy year ahead, after confirming earlier in the year that a Lizzie McGuire reboot is on the way.

“The good news is, just like me and everybody who loved Lizzie and has grown up with her, Lizzie’s also grown up,” Hilary shared of what’s in store for the new series.

“She’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget, which is super exciting. She has her dream job. She has kind of the perfect life right now… She has her dream guy, who owns a cool SoHo restaurant. She has her dream apartment in Brooklyn. And she’s getting ready to celebrate her 30th birthday.”

The original series aired from 2001 to 2004, and Hilary shared her exciting news on Instagram.

“I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl ♥️…and into her 30s”
