According to the beloved actresses family, Honor died of natural courses at her home in Sussex, southern England.
“As well as being a much-adored mother and grandmother, Honor was an actor of hugely prolific creative talent; with an extraordinary combination of beauty, brains and physical prowess, along with her unique voice and a dedicated work ethic,” the family said in a statement to The Guardian.
“She achieved an unparalleled iconic status in the world of film and entertainment and with absolute commitment to her craft and total professionalism in all her endeavours she contributed to some of the great films and theatre productions of our times.”
Honor was best known for her roles as Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, which also starred Sean Connery, as well as Cathy Gale in The Avengers, a 1961 spy drama television series.
At 38, Honor was one of the oldest actresses to play a Bond girl – five years older than Connery at the time.
Honor married twice, first in 1948 to Bill Sankey in a marriage lasting eight years.
In 1961, she wed British actor Maurice Kaufmann and the pair adopted two children together. The couple split in 1975, with Honor later admitting she preferred being single.
