Okay, this is just weird.
WATCH: What is MAFS bride Hayley talking about?!
Married At First Sight‘s feuding couple Hayley Vernon and David Cannon showed up to this year’s first dinner party separately, with truck driver Dave deciding to leave his wedding ring at home.
“It would be a joke to wear the wedding ring,” he explained as he was gearing up for the party.
“I don’t see a single glimmer of hope for this marriage.”
And no – that’s not the surprising part.
What was sort of odd was, after Hayley found out that David had refused to talk smack about her while she wasn’t there to defend herself, the brunette decided to rewrite the story of the missing wedding at the dinner table!
Speaking to fellow participant Michael Goonan, she told him the reason for the missing bling was “because it’s three sizes too big”.
Um, what?
“Can you please clarify something?” she asked, turning to Dave.
“The fact that you don’t have the wedding ring – it’s not because you don’t wanna wear it, it’s ’cause it’s too big.”
“Hayley wanted to play happy families,” said a bewildered David.
“She even mentioned the fact I didn’t have my ring on is coz it didn’t fit, and that’s not the case at all.
“It really did show me how deluded Hayley wants to be, she wants to be the perfect couple.
“Things are far from in a good place with us.”
David recently slammed the MAFS experts, John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Dr Trisha Stratford, during an explosive video diary, claiming “they don’t know f–king s–t”.
“It’s all fake and it’s so hard to trust them when they’ve mismatched me so poorly,” he ranted in an 11-minute exposé obtained by New Idea. “They couldn’t even organise a f–king root in a brothel.
“I am looking forward to taking them to task when I see them. They matched me with a drug addict, f–king smoker who’s tall. Who the f–k do they think they are? It’s bizarre they could actually think that was a person I would fall in love with.”
Ouch, bro.
