Actor Martin Lynes sentenced to five years in jail

Former Home and Away and All Saints star Martin Lynes has been sentenced to five years jail after he was convicted of sexual assault.

The former soap star, 50, was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault after he attacked a woman on the Central Coast, in 2015 and 2016.

Lynes’ sentence was handed down in the Parramatta District Court on Friday March 16 with judge Robert Sutherland telling the court, “The event for which the offender is to be sentenced was very serious and is to be deplored,” Mr Sutherland told the court.”

The actor will have to spend a minimum of two years and six months behind bars.

Lynes, who also appeared in Packed to the Rafters and McLeod’s Daughters, plead guilty to the charges.
