A new report has revealed the Queen was left “hurt” and “disappointed” that Meghan Markle chose to turn down a visit to Balmoral, instead, flying across the pond to New York to watch pal Serena Williams crash out of the US Open.
Meghan’s surprise visit to the US – which she made sure was via a commercial flight, following the recent furore over her and Prince Harry’s use of private jets – meant snubbing the Queen’s invite to attend the Highland Games.

The Mail on Sunday described Meghan’s decision as an “outright snub” adding that Her Majesty “is ‘hurt and disappointed’ that her granddaughter-in-law would miss out on what she considers to be a treasured family occasion.

The source continued that the British monarch was looking forward to enjoying “a few days of merry chaos” with her great-grandchildren, including Archie who is still yet to visit the Queen’s summer home with Harry and Meghan claiming he is “too young.”

The news follows a report last month that Meghan’s sister-in-law, Kate Middleton has become the Queen’s favoured granddaughter-in-law.
