It was everything she had hoped for. Milly Hams, 31, was engaged to the man of her dreams, James Gunn, and a New Year’s Eve wedding was on the cards.
But then the moment Hams had been waiting for arrived – she was set to appear on My Kitchen Rules!
With filming taking place right up until the end of 2018, all the planning for the big day had to be done while Hams was on set.
“A lot of [planning] happened over FaceTime,” she laughs as she tells WHO. “My sister was amazing and I was able to do a lot of it while I was filming the show.”
Despite planning the day over FaceTime, the couple’s carnival-themed wedding went off without a hitch.
“We had dodgem cars and martini carts, plus different food stalls including Spanish, Mexican and American,” she recalls.
“Every single person you know and love is in one room. It really is the best day of your life.”
Despite being head over heels, the couple aren’t planning on starting a family any time soon. “We’re definitely planning on children in the future. But not for a while,” she says.
“We’d like to enjoy being married for the next 12 to 18 months!”
