A group of passengers were left trapped on Dreamworld’s Buzzsaw ride this afternoon.
A video taken shows footage of the patrons stuck on the ride, which malfunctioned mid-journey.
It has been reported by Channel Nine that the group of people on the ride were left suspended mid-air.
According to The Age, a spokesperson for Dreamworld said one of the safety sensors was triggered which brought the ride to an immediate stop.
“The Buzzsaw auto-stop sensor was engaged today. Auto-stopping and resetting of rides is a regular and essential part of operations. It occurs for a variety of reasons, from sensor alignment to guest behaviour or weather,” he said.
“Guests are not placed in danger by auto-stops occurring. They are an essential built-in part of ride safety systems and manufacturer’s specifications.”
ABC on the Gold Coast reported that all passengers are OK.
