Princess Eugenie has sparked an online discussion about her older sister – and it’s all thanks to this Instagram post.
Royal fans were sent into a tailspin when Eugenie – who is the younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson – shared a tribute post to Queen Victoria on what would have been her 200th birthday.
“Today marks the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria (1819-1901).” Eugenie wrote in the caption.
“She reigned for almost 64 years and I’m very proud to be named after her. The first image is a portrait of Queen Victoria by Franz Xaver Winterhalter (1805-1873) @royalcollectiontrust.
“The second is of Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend, who played Victoria and Albert in The Young Victoria (2009) – a film produced by @sarahferguson15.”
And according to a report in Hello Magazine, fans were quick to pick up on the resemblance between Eugenie’s great-great-great-great-grandmother and her older sister, Beatrice.
“Your lovely sister resembles her very much,” said one fan.
“Princess Beatrice looks very much like Queen Victoria – same eyes and pout,” mused another.
“Your sister Beatrice looks very similar to Her Majesty Queen Victoria especially when Bea does side view,” one person wrote.
We have to admit, the resemblance is striking!
