Louis Ducruet, the son of Princess Stéphanie, and his college girlfriend, Marie Chevallier got married over the weekend.
Sources told People that the Monaco royal opted for a “private family affair” for his wedding nuptials, beginning with a civil ceremony at the Prince’s palace on Friday and a religious ceremony on Saturday.

The religious ceremony was held at the principality’s Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate, the same place Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier II were married in 1956.
According to People, the Cathedral carried a great deal of significance to Louis, who is the grandson of Prince Rainier II.
“I was really attached to my grandfather, and I wanted him to be here with me. At some point he will be with me during the wedding ceremony at the cathedral. That’s why we chose it, and Marie supported me in this decision, even though the place is big and there’s a protocol, but that’s the only way for my grandfather to be with us,” Louis said.
The bride wore a white silk jumpsuit during her civil ceremony, which no royal has done before.
For her cathedral wedding, Marie wore a gown designed by her new sister-in-law Pauline Ducruet, who graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2017.
The guest list comprised of close family and friends, including Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene, Princess Stephanie, Pauline Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb.
Louis’ father Daniel Ducruet was also in attendance, along with several of the groom’s half-siblings.
According to People, it was “love at first sight” for Marie and Louis.
The couple has been together since 2011, after meeting at a Cannes nightclub and realising they attended the same business college.
Leading up to their wedding, the usually private couple shared their excitement on social media.
“You are my heaven on earth,” Louis wrote in the caption of a photo with Marie.
Marie posted a photo of Louis and their rescue dog Pancake, captioning it, “My happiness.”
