Coming from humble beginnings on Home and Away, as many did, Samara Weaving is fast-becoming one of our greatest acting exports.
The 29-year-old has just been announced as the starring role in the upcoming film, The Valet, an English-language remake of a popular French film.
Her character, Olivia, is an internationally famous film star, who hires her parking valet to act as her boyfriend to help cover up her affair with a married man.
The film will also star Max Greenfield, of New Girl fame, and Eugenio Derbez from Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
The film will come out next year on Disney+ on the UK, so we can assume that’s where we’ll see it here, too.
This latest announcement is another in a long list of great roles for the actress,
who seems to be landing roles all over Hollywood.
She is starring in Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins, which comes out later this month.
She has also been picked to play Elizabeth Patterson Bonaparte in a biopic about the American founding mother and socialite, titled Liz, and will also star as playboy bunny Holly Madison in a limited series.
Samara is currently filming Babylon, a period drama that also features Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie – two very big Hollywood names.
In fact, Samara and Margot share quite a close friendship, with Samara recently attending Margot’s Love Island-themed birthday party.
“I met her at the Oscars and she’s just delightful. She’s so talented and so funny, she’s amazing,” Samara said of Margot in a chat with Marie Claire.
“I’ve had meetings with her production company and her husband is good friends with my boyfriend,” she explained.
Samara also often gets mistaken for Margot, with the two of them sharing very similar faces and features.
They also both got their starts on Australian soaps, with Margot coming from Neighbours, and Samara starring as Indi Walker on Home and Away for four years before leaving in 2013 to pursue acting overseas – which is obviously going incredibly well!
We can’t wait to see some of Samara’s new projects when they’re released!
