Devastating news for Australian media and football fans, as SBS presenter Les Murray dies age 71.
SBS made the sad announcement via Twitter, writing: “SBS football broadcaster Les Murray has died at the age of 71 after a long battle with illness. Tributes tonight on SBS World News at 6.30pm”.

The much loved broadcaster became synonymous with his commentating of football, including the FIFA World Cup, after joining SBS in 1980.
He is survived by his two daughters.
