Elizabeth, who was in a relationship with Shane from 2010 to 2013 and briefly engaged, took to Instagram to share a series of images from their time together.
“I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever,” she wrote in an emotional tribute, adding: “RIP my beloved Lionheart @shanewarne23.”
Liz’s son Damian Hurley, 19, also shared his heartbreak over Shane’s death, who passed away following a suspected heart attack in Thailand, aged 52.
“I’m still trying to wrap my head around this… SW was a father figure to me for most of my formative years and was truly one the best men I’ve ever known,” Damian wrote. “My heart is broken. Thinking of and sending love to all SW’s family.”
Shane and Liz first met at the races in July 2010 before photos of the pair kissing in London later that year publicly confirmed their romance.
The Spin King popped the question to Liz on a yacht in 2013 but they broke up that same year.
In an interview with The Mirror, the sports star later revealed his years with Liz “were the happiest of (his) life,” and they simply “fizzled out.”
“It wasn’t something that she or I did wrong, it just fizzled out. We’re still great friends, we still stay in touch, we’re good for each other, and our kids get along great,” he explained.
Shane was previously married to Simone Callahan, with whom he shared three children: daughters Brooke, 24, Summer, 20, and son Jackson, 22.
