The Bachelor’s Nick Cummins has given his one and only TV interview with The Project’s Lisa Wilkinson along with dumped bachelorettes Sophie Tieman, Brittany Hockley, Cass Wood and Brooke Blurton. And it’s an emotional one.
The shocking Bachelor finale saw the Honey Badger, 30, tell both Brittany and Sophie that he couldn’t commit to them.
“I am not able to wholeheartedly commit to you right now. At this time our journey comes to an end,” the rugby star told Sophie, 25, before giving an almost identifical speech to Brittany, 30.
Now, Nick has revealed where his head was at before leaving the two girls brokenhearted.
“Going in I felt like I was almost a boy compared to how I see things now,” he tells The Sunday Project host.
Lisa then hit back with what the entire country is thinking: “But you do understand on The Bachelor you’re meant to be in a place where you’re ready to have a relationship.”
Nick’s response: “Um…”
Wilkinson voiced what many were thinking – Was Brooke the one? The journalist said that their “kisses were deeper” with Nick agreeing.
“The eyes don’t lie,” he said before the host asking if she was the “one that got away?”
“Yeah, there was something left unsaid, there were a lot of emotions left swirling around. She got away in that regard.”
But Nick thinks realistically things wouldn’t have worked out as Brooke lives in Perth and he is in Sydney.
“I’m not going to force that sort of thing. She’s 23 years old and she lives in Perth.”
“I wouldn’t change it. I want what’s best for her and I want her to be happy.”
The former footy star has no ill will towards any of the girls.
“To all the girls, I went through a lot a lot of stuff. And I just want youse (sic) all to know, if I ever see you again I’ll buy you a drink and say hello for old times’ sake.”
“As far as I had control, I wouldn’t do anything differently. For what was in my grasp, I’m happy.”
Appearing together on the show, Brittany and Sophie relived their emotional finale.
“I don’t understand how we didn’t end up together,” Brittany confessed.
“The fact that he couldn’t see enough in one girl out of 28, it just shocks us,” Sophie told Wilkinson.
“I would hope he’s a little embarrassed, we just went through so many highs and so many lows and I’m sure he did too – but I just hope there’s something in him that’s a little unhappy or uneasy with his decision because God knows we have been through it.”
“He hasn’t gone in there and they’ve [producers] said ‘you need to propose and you need to fall in love’ it’s whether he can find someone that you can connect with and you know… try it in the real world later,” Sophie added.
Brittany agreed, “You don’t go to an all-you-can-eat buffet when you’ve just had lunch, do you?”

Also interviewed are a teary-eyed Cass and Brooke.
“My whole life has been put on display… I wanted it to be worth it,” Brooke said before wiping away tears.
But the 23-year-old is definitely no longer in love with Nick, answering a resounding “No!” when asked if she was.
As for Cass, she was shocked by how she was portrayed.
“I feel like a bit of a joke,” before tearing up, “Like it hasn’t been … it hasn’t been … sorry.”
Explaining their relationship, she added, “It was on-and-off, but when we were together, the moments that we had were special. And I always found him someone special, and that’s why I had such strong feelings.”
Unlike Brooke, Cass couldn’t deny she still had feelings for The Bachelor.
“He was always someone I thought was amazing and I’ll always have a soft spot for him. Maybe those feelings were still there, even after filming had ended.”
