He may have seemingly transitioned into acting seamlessly after picking up a permanent gig Pierce Greyson on Neighbours, but Tim Robards has admitted he totally messed up his audition for the long-running Aussie soap.

Recalling scenes on the set with veteran star Stefan Dennis, the former Bachelor star told The Sunday Telegraphy’s insider: ‘We had to do numerous takes and I just thought “I’ve totally stuffed that”.’

Tim, 37, went on to explain that producers were initially impressed by his audition tape and flew him from Sydney to Melbourne to film some test scenes with Stefan.

‘I walked into the audition room and Stefan came in and he’s just got such a deep voice, and he’s in my face and we ended up doing the scene and all the lines just went out of my head,’ Tim said with a laugh.

‘I couldn’t pull them [the lines] together and we had to do numerous takes and I just thought, “I’ve totally stuffed that”,’ he continued.
However, much to his surprise, Tim was given a second chance to audition with April Rose Pengilly.

The Instagram star went on to ace that audition and was given the news he’d got the job on the same day he flew to Italy to marry Bachelor winner Anna Heinrich.

Tim and Anna were dogged by split rumours late last year after Kyle Sandilands claimed that their marriage will “never be right.”

“This morning, I had her [Anna] on my radio show, and I said: ‘What’s the deal with your husband living in Melbourne trying to be an actor on Neighbours?’ and she said: ‘He’s signed for a year’,’ Kyle said during an appearance on The Project.

After panellist Tommy Little laughed awkwardly, Kyle suggested he knew more about their relationship than he was letting on, implying the seemingly perfect couple’s marriage is on the rocks.

“Hmmm… I feel there’s trouble there,” the 48-year-old continued. “No, no there’s no trouble there,” he then said, mimicking Anna.” Watch that space. Something’s going on!”
