She continues, “I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family – I believe it’s wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love.”
The Big Little Lies actress’ stars in her latest film, Boy Erased, is a coming-of-age drama based on Garrard Conley’s 2016 memoir of the same name.
The movie follows the son of Baptist parents who is forced to take part in a gay conversion therapy program.
She plays Nancy Eamons conservative mother raising a gay son (played by Lucas Hedges).
