This is not good for fans.
Channel Nine

Ninja Warrior Australia reeled in a massive 1.68 million in its first season last year, but Sunday night’s premiere episode seems to pale in comparison with a dramatic dip to 929,000 viewers.

The reality TV show made its debut on a big night of news, with viewers averting their attention to tune into Channel 7 as the rescue in Thailand unfolded – topping the night’s most-watched list with 1.17 million viewers.

According to The Daily Telegraph, a nine spokesperson revealed the network feels “confident the numbers will continue to grow through the season”.

“There are many external factors which affected night one, including crippling technical issues in Perth,” the spokesman said. “Ninja is a program we are extremely proud of and we’re confident it will again be one of this year’s blockbusters.”

As previously reported on WHO, Red Wiggle Simon Pryce and his wife Lauren Hannaford — are competing alongside last year’s entrant The Bachelor‘s Tim Robards.

“We thought it would be a really fun challenge to get involved in,” Hannaford told The Daily Telegraph.

“We love doing anything together that involves being active and being healthy; it’s how we like to spend our time,” she continued.
