If there’s one thing in music you can rely on, it’s that enduring boy band Backstreet Boys know their way around a pop song or dozen. That’s not to say the quintet’s ninth album, DNA, features no surprises among its slickly produced, closely harmonised tracklisting.
Songs like “Breathe” and the Shawn Mendes-co-written single, “Chances”, don’t sound like anything the one-time chart-toppers have released before, proving the boys are capable of moving forward. (Out now) 3.5 stars
