Aussie actress Samara Weaving is kicking goals in Hollywood, landing role after role in high-profile projects like GI Joe: Snake Eyes and Nine Perfect Strangers, but what do we know about her personal life and relationships?
The actress is particularly skilled in keeping her personal life out of the spotlight, especially when it comes to her relationship with long-term partner Jimmy Warden.
The couple, who met on the set of the 2017 film The Babysitter, where Jimmy produced and Samara starred, have kept things mostly under wraps for quite some time now.
Showing their low-key romance mostly through often-blurry Instagram tributes, Samara and Jimmy always manage to keep us guessing.
Although it’s not exactly known when the pair linked up, principal photography for The Babysitter began in 2015, and was released two years later in 2017.
The teen comedy horror film was one of Samara’s first major roles in Hollywood, where she headed after a successful run on Home and Away as fan-favourite Indi Walker.
She appeared in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri that same year in a supporting role, but it was the role of Bee in The Babysitter that helped her shoot to prominence in the US.
Samara first appeared on Jimmy’s Instagram in November 2015, usually seen in pictures with Brian Duffield, the director of The Babysitter.
However, the pair didn’t appear coupled up until the following year, with Jimmy beginning to post regular pictures with Samara.
He first appeared on Samara’s socials in March 2017.
She posted a black and white photo of herself with Jimmy in August that year, captioning it “Thanks for taking care of me and my brain.”
The two announced their engagement in March of 2019, again taking to Instagram to share the milestone.
“So here goes! Jimbo and I are engaged!! Let’s party my loved ones!! P.S you know you’re loved when you can eat a ham and cheese toastie in bed and your fiancé says that’s beautiful,” she wrote, along with pictures of herself sporting an unusual – but beautiful – ring.
However, the post has now mysteriously been deleted.
Despite that strange move, the couple still seem to be very much together.
Samara posted a gorgeous image of the two kissing and dancing for Jimmy’s birthday in April this year, simply writing “Happy Birthday jimbo @jimmywarden_ ❤️.”
Back in May, Jimmy also made a slightly bizarre post in honour of Samara.
Alongside a picture of the two of them sporting fake moustaches, Jimmy wrote “It’s been two years since I married my favorite actor in the world, Steve Zahn. Happy anniversary, Steve. I love you.”
While Jimmy is known for his ironic captions, the post sparked rumours that the pair had actually gotten married far from the public eye.
Fans jumped in to congratulate them on their anniversary with reams of heart emojis, leaving us to wonder – have we missed something?

Married or not, the couple seem happily loved up with a little terrier dog rounding out their family.
Samara’s latest film, GI Joe: Snake Eyes came out this month, and her next role as Jessica in Nine Perfect Strangers will be hitting Amazon Prime on August 18.
We hope to see some happy wedding snaps of Samara and Jimmy someday, but we might just have to wait and see!
