It’s been a year since we watched astrophysicist Matt Agnew fall for Chelsie McLeod on his season of The Bachelor.
And after an ill-fated end to their post-show romance, Chelsie’s made a subtle dig at her ex by suggesting she’d be better suited to this year’s hunky adventurer, Locky Gilbert.

Watching The Bachelor premiere at home with a close friend, Chelsie reminisced about her time on the show, before suggesting she should have appeared on this season instead.
As the show began, her friend Samuel commented that she would have been a better suited match to Locky than Matt.
“I think he [Locky] is more my type in that he is more adventurous and fun,” Chelsie said in an Instagram video.
“I didn’t really show that side of mine because I was all like science-based, which is not really me.”
After winning The Bachelor in 2019, the couple called it quits by the end of the year.
“It’s definitely been rough,” a tearful Chelsie told her followers during an Instagram Q&A at the time.
“I do not deal with heartbreak well and yeah, my heart is broken. This sucks.”
While Chelsie didn’t divulge details, it is believed it was Matt who ended the romance.
“A lot of you want to know what happened between Matt and I. I am going to respect his privacy and not go into details,” the chemical engineer continued.
“It’s a hard situation and it takes two strong people with a strong connection to get through stages from filming to the end.”
Although Chelsie insisted “nothing bad happened” between the pair, she and her co-stars have hinted on multiple occasions that infidelity spelled the end of their romance.
Chelsie was spotted commenting “triggered” on Jessica Brody’s Instagram which read: “Me ➡️vs.➡️ Me when he tells me I’m the only girl he’s talking to.”
